Size Chart - Acavallo Boots & Protection

Acavallo horse boots and protective gear are sized by horse height and build. Most models are available in front and hind versions — hind boots are slightly larger to accommodate the wider hind cannon bone.

Gel Hoof Boots (Anatomical Non-Twist)

Size Suitable For
Cob Cobs, smaller horses, and ponies 14.2hh+
Full Full-size horses (15.2hh+), warmbloods, and larger breeds
How to choose: The gel boots stretch to conform to the hoof shape, so they are quite forgiving on fit. If your horse is a typical 15hh–16hh riding horse, Full is usually correct. Choose Cob for smaller, finer-boned horses or large ponies. The full elasticity of the gel means they mould around the hoof without slipping or rotating.

Rubber Bell Boots (Numbered Sizing)

Size Suitable For
3 Ponies / small horses
4 Cobs / average horses
5 Full-size horses / warmbloods
6 Large warmbloods / heavy horses
Not sure? If your horse wears standard Cob-size boots in other brands, try size 4. If they wear Full, try size 5.

Fetlock / Brushing Boots

Including Magnet Care and tendon boot models.

Size Fits Approximate Height
S Ponies Up to 14.2hh
M Cobs, small horses 14.2hh – 15.2hh
L Most horses 15.2hh – 16.2hh
XL Warmbloods, larger breeds 16.2hh+

How to Measure for Boots

Measure the circumference of your horse’s cannon bone at its widest point, just below the knee (for front boots) or hock (for hind boots). If your horse is between sizes, choose the larger size for comfort.

Acavallo Boot Technology

Acavallo’s boots feature their proprietary gel technology for superior shock absorption. The gel is hypoallergenic and non-toxic, safe for direct skin contact. Eco-leather models provide a durable, easy-care alternative to traditional leather, while faux sheepskin linings add comfort and help prevent rubs.
