HV Polo Basic Tail Guard - Black
Use this size guide for HV Polo outdoor and stable blankets. Blankets are sized by stick measure — the back length of your horse from withers to base of tail (measured straight, not following the curve).
- Stick measure — from withers to base of tail along the back
- Upper width — chest opening at the front of the blanket
- Bottom width — drop length from spine to lower edge

If between sizes, size up — a blanket that's too tight rubs at the chest and shoulders. The blanket should sit clear of the wither, cover the full back to the base of the tail, and the front buckles should fasten without straining.
The Basic is HV Polo's tail guard — a protective wrap that goes over the top of the tail to shield it during travel and in the stable, stopping the dock and top of the tail from rubbing on the trailer wall or getting messed up in the bed. Hook-and-loop closure fastens it on and adjusts to fit, and the HV Polo logo badge sits on the outside.
